The 2024-25 Know the Score Wellness Committee - Team Wellness Champion Training will take place on Tuesday, October 29th at 6:30pm at the Saskatoon Travelodge Hotel.  See below for details.

A couple of changes that came out of surveying the 2023-24 Wellness Champions:

1. Returning Wellness Champions are not required to attend the information evening on October 29th - they are more than welcome to but it is not required.  All new Wellness Champions are required to attend

2. Wellness Champions will no longer be required to host a team information session.  The October 29th information evening will be recorded and posted to YouTube for distribution to all families in U13-U18.

Know the Score Wellness Program 2024-25

 

1.  KTS Wellness Program Components

• Diversity and Anti-Racism
• Cannabis, drugs, alcohol, tobacco & vaping
• Online Gambling
• Mental Health & Mental Performance
• Building Healthy Relationships & Sexual Consent (U15 & U18)
• Anti-Bullying
• Team Wellness Champions (U13-U18 teams)            

2. Program Description / Dissemination – “Empower & Care”

• Each U13-U18 team, including Interlock MHA teams, at all levels will be required to designate a Team Wellness Champion. 
• Teams may designate two Wellness Champions if they desire. 
• The Wellness Champion cannot be a registered team official (coach or on-ice helper) or a team manager.
• The Wellness Champion should be  a parent or parents  on the team that cares about kids and wants to help out. 
• No hockey background is required for this role.
• The program will promote confidentiality

3. Role of the Wellness Champions

• To attend the Know the Score Wellness program session. See below.
• At this session, the Wellness Champions will be introduced to the various concepts listed above by the experts in their fields that have agreed to assist.
• NEW: The Wellness Champions will not be required to host a team presentation.  Instead, the training session will be recorded and posted to YouTube to share with all families.
• Be the team contact for a parent or player seeking assistance with any of the components and to be in touch with SMHA to find further assistance.
